Emily Calandrelli, a Morgantown native and West Virginia University alumna, is set to become West Virginia's first female astronaut, flying aboard Blue Origin's New Shepard sub-orbital spacecraft. After her space mission, she plans to share her experiences with children throughout West Virginia. The spaceflight company, founded by Jeff Bezos, has flown seven human spaceflight missions.
