BHP Group achieved record annual iron ore production in Western Australia, surpassing analyst expectations.
BHP Group reported record annual iron ore production for the second consecutive year, surpassing analyst expectations. The company's South Flank operations in Western Australia reached full operational capacity of 80 million metric tons during the quarter. Iron ore production from Western Australia in the three months to June 30 was 76.8 million tonnes, while copper production during the quarter increased 6% compared with the prior year. BHP expects to produce between 282-294 million tonnes of iron ore for fiscal 2025.
