2 Rowan Co. detention officers charged for providing inmate with contraband, including tobacco.
2 Rowan Co. detention officers, Dustin Swaim & Zachary McIntyre, charged for supplying inmate William Upright with contraband, including cigarettes, lighters, & dipping tobacco. An internal investigation found the officers provided the contraband, and both are now charged with willfully failing to discharge their duties and providing tobacco to an inmate. Upright was also charged with possessing tobacco by an inmate.
