The Reserve Bank of New Zealand is gathering public opinion on introducing digital cash as an alternative, instant, safe, and low-cost payment method without a bank account. While maintaining physical cash, the bank aims to provide an accessible consultation process with formats like NZSL, braille, audio, easy read, and large print, open until July 26. In 2024, the bank plans to conduct more focused consultations with various groups.
