Kano State High Court in Nigeria grants perpetual injunction prohibiting deposed Emirs of Kano and others from parading as emirs.
A Kano State High Court in Nigeria has granted a perpetual injunction restraining Aminu Ado-Bayero, the 15th Emir of Kano, and four other deposed emirs of Bichi, Rano, Gaya and Karaye from parading themselves as emirs. The applicants are the Attorney General of Kano State, the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, and the Kano State House of Assembly, who filed a motion ex parte on May 27. The court order restrains Ado-Bayero and the other four dethroned emirs from presenting themselves as emirs, as well as anyone appointed by them.
