The Goa Assembly's budget session faced disruption on its first day, leading to two adjournments, due to a breach of privilege motion against Quepem MLA Altone D'Costa. The dispute arose when D'Costa was accused of making insulting comments against Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar in relation to political reservations for the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community. The opposition Congress accused the ruling BJP of planning to disrupt proceedings to avoid discussing important questions during the Question Hour.
