Dollar General agrees to pay $12M fine, enhance safety measures at 20,000 US stores for unsafe practices.
Dollar General has agreed to pay a $12M fine and improve safety measures at its 20,000 US stores to settle allegations of unsafe practices such as blocking emergency exits. The company must significantly reduce inventory, improve stocking, hire more safety managers, and establish a health and safety committee. This follows the retailer receiving over $15M in penalties since 2017 for repeatedly violating workplace regulations, and being labeled a "severe violator".
