2 British Columbia individuals fall ill with lead poisoning, possibly linked to Ayurvedic herbal medicines or opium-containing products.
British Columbia's Fraser Health Authority has issued a warning after two individuals fell ill with lead poisoning, possibly linked to the consumption of Ayurvedic herbal medicines or opium-containing products. These products, commonly used by some South Asian populations, may contain heavy metals such as lead, mercury, arsenic, and other toxins. Fraser Health suggests that individuals check the Natural Product Number of the medicines they use to ensure they are registered with Health Canada.
