Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma credits transparency in exam conduct for a surge in applicants for Grade III and IV posts, with over 11 lakh candidates expected to appear in the exam set to begin in September. The CM also announced the introduction of negative marking this year. In Arunachal Pradesh, the cabinet approved a draft bill to prevent unfair means in recruitment exams, which will be tabled in the legislative assembly session later this month. The new act aims to prevent and curb malpractices during recruitment exams, with stringent penalties and imprisonment up to Rs 1 crore.
