21-year-old Oklahoma State outfielder/pitcher Carson Benge was drafted 19th overall by the New York Mets in the 2024 MLB Draft. Benge, a left-handed hitter, has a .335 batting average and 18 home runs, while also pitching with a 96 mph fastball. A semifinalist for the 2024 Dick Howser Trophy and John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award, Benge is expected to become a top prospect in the Mets' system.
