Milwaukee Brewers selected outfielder Braylon Payne, 17, from Elkins High School in Texas as the 17th overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft. Payne, who turns 18 in August, is ranked the No. 53 overall prospect by MLB Pipeline and is known for his speed and hitting skills. This marks the first time since 2018 that the Brewers have chosen a prep position player in the first round.
