4th animal death at Calgary Stampede: Horse euthanized after fracture during chuckwagon race.
A horse from the Obrey Motowylo team was euthanized after suffering a fracture during the chuckwagon races at the Calgary Stampede. This marks the fourth animal death at the event since changing to a three-team format in 2020. The Stampede CEO, Joel Cowley, said the decision to euthanize was made after consulting with the veterinary team. Earlier this week, two horses and a steer were also euthanized after sustaining injuries at the event.
