Supreme Court declines to quash DA case against Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar.
The Supreme Court has refused to quash a disproportionate assets (DA) case against Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar. The CBI had filed a criminal case against Shivakumar under sections 13(2) and 13(1)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, alleging that he amassed assets disproportionate to his income during his tenure as energy minister in the previous Congress-led Karnataka government. Shivakumar's plea challenging the CBI's FIR was dismissed by the Supreme Court, which stated it was not inclined to interfere with the Karnataka High Court order.
