Shah Alam Sessions Court fined KK Mart and its supplier Xin Jian Chang Sdn Bhd RM60,000 each over a scandal involving socks with the word "Allah." Both companies admitted guilt to amended charges of causing religious offense. KK Mart's founder Datuk Seri Chai Kee Kan, his wife Datin Seri Loh Siew Mui, and three company directors were granted a discharge amounting to an acquittal in the same case. The prosecution team applied for the withdrawal of charges via discharge not amounting to an acquittal, but the defense team argued for full acquittal, which was granted by the criminal court.
