Pinellas County Sheriff's Deputy accidentally struck and killed a 73-year-old man, Mark Hunter, who was sitting in the median lane of 49th Street during an incident early Sunday morning. Deputy Lira-Rangel's attention was diverted by a woman in a red pickup truck, and although speed and impairment are not believed to have been factors, the investigation is ongoing.
