The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has warned of increased chances of eruptive activity at Kanlaon Volcano on Negros Island. The volcano has experienced swelling since 2022, with ground deformation changes and volcanic earthquake activity indicating potential magma intrusion beneath the edifice. Kanlaon remains under Alert Level 2 since its eruption on June 3.
