The Oakland Athletics selected Wake Forest's first baseman Nick Kurtz as the 4th overall pick in the 2024 MLB draft. The 21-year-old hit .306/.531/.763 in his junior season with the Demon Deacons and is a two-time member of the All-ACC first team. Though some fans raised concerns over the pronunciation of his name, the Athletics believe it's a great pick for their team.
