China's rail freight volume and turnover hit record highs in June, with the country's railways transporting 332 million tonnes of cargo and a freight turnover of 266.5 billion tonne-kilometers. The increase was attributed to national rail shipments of containers, automobiles, and cold-chain cargo. Cross-border cargo transportation also saw rapid growth, contributing to the stability of international supply chains and promoting China's foreign trade development and high-level opening-up. The China-Europe freight train service recorded 1,719 trips in June, a 15% increase year-on-year, and shipped 180,000 containers.
