17-year-old high school student Julin Cheung, a flute and piccolo player, will become the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra's youngest ever member as its new assistant principal flute and piccolo player. Cheung impressed the jury during his audition, with orchestra president Angela Elster stating, "We can go through national auditions and then international auditions and still not hear the quality that we're looking for."
