Private plane with engine trouble lands on CA-178 highway in Death Valley National Park, no injuries reported.

A private plane experienced engine trouble over Death Valley National Park on July 2, prompting an emergency landing on CA-178. The plane, flying from Pahrump, NV to Ridgecrest, CA, was unable to reach its intended airstrip and landed on the highway west of Salisberry Pass in Bradbury Wash. No injuries were reported, and officials from Inyo County Sheriff, Caltrans, and California Highway Patrol assisted in safely moving the aircraft off the highway and onto a wide shoulder.
