Neelam Bharti, wife of GST Assistant Commissioner Santosh Kumar Bharti, died by suicide through hanging at her Lucknow residence on July 14. Neelam's family accused her brother-in-law of murder; however, no suicide note was found. Neelam's brother stated she was harassed and mentally tormented by her husband and in-laws for seven years, and the allegations are under investigation.
