Kuwait Oil Company discovers 2.1 billion barrels of light oil and 5.1 trillion cubic feet of gas in Al-Nokhatha field.
Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) announced a significant oil and gas discovery in the Al-Nokhatha field, east of Failaka Island. Initial estimated reserves amount to 2.1 billion barrels of light oil and 5.1 trillion standard cubic feet of gas, equating to 3.2 billion barrels of oil equivalent. KOC plans to develop a strategy for immediate production from the field, contributing to Kuwait's goal of increasing production capacity to 4 million barrels per day by 2035.
