Union Minister Ajay Tamta announced that the 88.4 km Gwalior-Agra greenfield highway, budgeted at Rs 4,216 crore, is likely to commence construction in the current financial year. Upon completion, the six-lane route will cut travel time between Gwalior and Agra from three hours to one hour. Additionally, an approval has been granted for constructing the western bypass of Gwalior's ring road at a cost of Rs 1,004 crore.
