Former Nigerian Senate President Pius Anyim has defected from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), with APC National Chairman Dr Abdullahi Ganduje describing the move as a "huge blessing." Anyim was welcomed into the APC alongside other stakeholders from the Southeast region at a rally held at Abakaliki Stadium, with Ganduje and other key party members present. Anyim's departure from the PDP was reported on June 29th.
