Montreal police arrested 43-year-old Van Lanh Vuong for posing as a landlord, scamming tenants into paying security deposits for non-existent apartments. Vuong, charged with fraud over $5,000 and breaking and entering, allegedly contacted victims through online postings or ads, showing vacant apartments before signing fake leases and demanding one to two months' rent as deposit. The police financial crime squad seeks additional victims.
