20-year-old Renato Veiga, a versatile defensive midfielder, officially joins Chelsea on a seven-year contract worth £12m from FC Basel. He is Chelsea's fifth summer signing, following Tosin Adarabioyo, Omari Kellyman, Marc Guiu, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Veiga has previously played for Sporting CP and Real SC youth systems and has experience in the Portuguese third division, Swiss Super League, and Bundesliga.
