29-year-old Ohio mother, Alexa Stakely, was killed when she tried to stop two men from stealing her car with her 6-year-old son inside. The incident occurred in Columbus when Stakely, a speech-language pathologist, returned to her car to retrieve her son's belongings from the babysitter. Upon seeing the car being backed out onto the roadway, she ran towards it and was struck by the vehicle, resulting in a fatal head injury. Her young son was unharmed. The suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene.
