64-year-old man from Indio was killed in a crash involving an off-road vehicle near Cactus City rest area on Friday. The man was riding a Red Can-Am Outlander 570 quad when it overturned. The incident occurred in the open desert west of Cottonwood Springs Road, north of Interstate 10. CHP Officer David Torres stated no evidence of alcohol or drug influence was found. The man's identity has not been released.
