Sanjay Raut defends 1975 Emergency in India, citing support from Shiv Sena founder and RSS and criticizing BJP for "mislead" people.
Sanjay Raut, a leader from the Shiv Sena (UBT), has defended the Emergency declared in India in 1975, stating that the party's founder Bal Thackeray and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) supported it. Raut claimed that the Emergency was imposed due to anarchy and bomb-making activities in the country. He argued that the BJP has no work left and only wants to "mislead" people, as it lacks a parliamentary majority. Raut's comments come in response to the Centre's decision to observe June 25, the day the Emergency was declared, as 'Samvidhan Hatya Diwas' (Constitution Murder Day).
