An Indian ship carrying 150 tonnes of perishable food has reached Maldives, opening a direct shipping route from Tuticorin Port in India to Hithadhoo Port at Addu, the southernmost atoll of the Maldives. This new route, managed by Kerala-based Finesse Group, is expected to reduce import costs and complexity for the southern atolls, as well as provide a continuous supply of fresh food to Addu residents.
