Gov. Jay Inslee toured Hanford site's historic B Reactor in Tri-Cities and was impressed by the advanced physics and craftsmanship. He met with homeschooled students and discussed the nuclear reservation's environmental cleanup, including a new plan for radioactive tank waste cleanup, with Washington state Department of Ecology staff. B Reactor began construction in October 1943 as part of the US's efforts to produce an atomic bomb during WWII.
