Balochistan suspends internet, cell services in Quetta during Muharram, deploys 8,000 security personnel and imposes Section 144.
Balochistan Home Minister Meer Zia Ullah Langau announced that internet and cellphone services in Quetta will be suspended on Muhrram 7 and 10 from 6am to midnight. Section 144 is imposed in seven districts to enhance security during Muharram. Five Quick Response Force platoons of the Pakistan Army will be on standby, and 8,000 security personnel will be deployed in Quetta on Ashura, the 10th of Muharram.
