Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport has the highest number of firearms detected at security checkpoints in Georgia, with 222 found in the first half of 2024, equalling 89% of all firearms detected statewide. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) reported that nationally, there were 3,269 firearms detected at airport security checkpoints in the first half of 2024, with over 94% of them loaded.
