46-year-old Sergio Lopez Contreras was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the 2000 triple murder in Normal Heights, San Diego. Contreras was found guilty by a jury for the killings of Michael Plummer, 27, his girlfriend Adah Pearson, 18, and Plummer's nephew Julio Rangel Jr., 22 months. Prosecutors stated that Plummer was the intended target due to an unpaid $30 debt for methamphetamine.
