Supreme Court stays Karnataka High Court order restricting Kannada news channel Power TV's broadcast.
The Supreme Court of India stayed a Karnataka High Court order on Friday, which had restricted the broadcast of a Kannada news channel, Power TV. The apex court observed that the case appeared to be driven by "sheer political vendetta". The Karnataka High Court had previously restrained the broadcast of Power TV, accusing the private Kannada television channel of not having a valid license since October 2021. Power TV had been extensively reporting on a sex scandal involving JD(S) leaders Prajwal and Suraj Revanna.
