Nigeria's government has launched a committee to accelerate prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV. The committee aims to close the treatment gap for pregnant and breastfeeding women living with HIV and optimise continuity of treatment to eliminate vertical transmission. The Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Tunji Alausa, announced the government's plans to scale up early testing and treatments for exposed infants and provide high-quality treatment and care for children and adolescents living with HIV.
