New Zealand extends involvement in US-led maritime security coalition in the Red Sea through 2025.
New Zealand has extended its involvement in the US-led coalition to maintain maritime security in the Red Sea, as announced by Defence Minister Judith Collins and Foreign Minister Winston Peters. The six NZ Defence Force personnel will continue their work with partners to protect the collective self-defence of ships in the Middle East, aligning with New Zealand's values and ongoing efforts to support maritime security. The deployment is set to conclude on 31 January 2025.
