Mexico's President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum appoints Lazaro Cardenas as her government's chief of staff.

Mexico's President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum has selected Lazaro Cardenas, a former congressman, governor, and presidential advisor, to be her government's chief of staff. Cardenas, the son of Cuauhtemoc Cardenas and grandson of former President Lazaro Cardenas, will assist Sheinbaum in overseeing strategic government matters and fostering relationships with various sectors. Cardenas held the chief of staff role previously between 2018-2020.
