Former NYPD officer Juan Perez was found guilty of assault for punching a man in Greenwich Village in November 2021. Perez, who responded to a report of a person acting erratically, got into a physical struggle with the man, Borim Husenaj, resulting in six punches, a broken nose, and a loss of consciousness. Perez, who retired in 2023, was sentenced to a maximum of 364 days in prison in September.
