Environment Canada charges Teck Coal Limited for allegedly dumping hazardous substances into BC waters inhabited by fish.

Environment Canada has filed five charges against Teck Coal Limited for allegedly dumping hazardous substances into waters inhabited by fish in southeastern British Columbia. The charges are based on an investigation that began in March 2023, which focused on a claim that the company deposited a deleterious substance, such as oil, chemicals, or pesticides, into Dry Creek and the Fording River from its Line Creek Operations coal mine. The charges have not yet been tested in court.
