Dutch students' hydrogen-powered boat successfully crossed the North Sea on July 11, 2024.
Dutch students from TU Delft Hydro Motion Team successfully crossed the North Sea on July 11, 2024, using their self-built hydrogen-powered boat. This marks the first time a vessel of this kind made the 169-km journey from the Netherlands to England on a single tank. Their initial attempt on July 9 failed due to technical issues and thunderstorm risks, but they successfully completed the journey after repairing a broken cooling pump during a pitstop in Zeebrugge.
