Dollar General has agreed to pay a $12 million fine and improve workplace safety conditions in its thousands of US stores, according to a settlement with the U.S. Department of Labor. The discount retailer and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) reached the agreement to resolve alleged violations including unsafe storage, blocked emergency exits, and inaccessible electrical panels. If inspectors find similar issues in the future, Dollar General may face daily fines of $100,000 for any unresolved within 48 hours.
