Cornell University researchers develop Dune-inspired spacesuits recycling urine into drinkable water for extended spacewalks in NASA's Artemis program.

Sci-fi-inspired spacesuits, modeled on Dune's "stillsuits," are being developed by researchers at Cornell University. The prototype recycles urine into drinkable water using a vacuum-based external catheter and combined forward-reverse osmosis unit. The suit aims to enable astronauts to perform lengthy spacewalks and could be deployed in NASA's Artemis program.
