Consumers Energy and Muskegon County broke ground on the Muskegon Solar Energy Center, a 250-megawatt solar facility expected to power 40,000 homes by 2026. It is Consumers Energy's first self-owned large-scale solar project and a major expansion of clean energy in Michigan. The project will be developed on 1,900 acres of Muskegon County land, benefiting the county, Moorland Township, and Ravenna Schools with additional revenue.
