China-France joint satellite SVOM detects three gamma-ray bursts, with the data sent to the General Coordinates Network for international astronomy research. The Space Variable Objects Monitor, one of SVOM's four payloads, recently detected the gamma-ray bursts on June 27, 29, and July 2. Gamma-ray bursts, occurring in distant galaxies, are the universe's brightest and most extreme explosive events.
