California federal court dismisses lawsuit against Apple for alleged forced use of WebKit, hindering app competition.

A California federal court has dismissed a lawsuit against Apple, claiming the tech giant forced iOS developers into using its WebKit technology, hindering competition. The plaintiffs, three California and Illinois residents, challenged Apple's "closed ecosystem of apps and services". Apple denied violating antitrust law, as of January 2024, it stopped requiring all iOS browsers to use WebKit in the EU.
