Port St. Lucie Police arrested a barricaded suspect, Joshua Valdez (35), on July 12, 2024, in connection with a child pornography investigation. The crisis negotiation team, SWAT, and canines were involved in the arrest. Valdez was found hiding under a mattress and arrested without further incident. Roadways reopened after his arrest, and the investigation continues as law enforcement searches his home.
