100-year-old Major Colin Bligh, who fought in the Italian Campaign during WW2, has passed away. Born in Nyasaland (now Malawi), Bligh survived multiple near-misses during his service as an infantry officer and tank commander. After completing training at the Royal Armoured Corps Centre and Royal Military College Sandhurst, he was commissioned into the Royal Tank Regiment and embarked for Italy in 1942.
