Phoenix Police announced the arrest of 37-year-old Sergio Francisco Reyes for the murder of 15-year-old Elena Lasswell in 2004, exactly 20 years after her death. The case had gone cold until new DNA evidence in 2013 led to Reyes as the suspect. He was extradited from Mexico and booked into a Phoenix jail on multiple felonies, including sexual assault and first-degree murder charges.
