28-year-old Nathan Roche, who participated in a scheme defrauding Trinity College Dublin's hardship fund of over €549,000, told gardaí he was "not the brightest star" and was unknowingly used in a money laundering operation. Roche pleaded guilty to possessing €1,550 as proceeds of crime. Trinity College's staff member was also involved in the theft of a large sum of the money.
